He had a lovely relationship with a real go-getter girlfriend too who eventually gets sick of watching him become a lazy couch potato that doesn't even notice her anymore. His life degenerates into days and nights of yelling and ordering his mother around, drinking beer, eating junk food and devouring horror movies, technically he's probably depresses but nobody suggested he see the doctor. He becomes an angry, selfish and horrible young man (sadly). The books opens with the story of Dave, a promising athlete, heading for athletic glory, but things go horribly wrong in his life and key male figures leave and Dave is left with an empty gap in his heart and his life. I really enjoyed reading this book, especially the second half which was not for those who hate horror and gore (in which case you should read other books than those in the horror category).
